Brief History Presidential decree 609 creating Tarlac college of Agriculture stated the need to establish the Institute of Veterinary Medicine curriculum. Board Resolution No. 281, s., 1980 allowed the offering of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, originally a ladder-type curriculum, still under the Institute of Agriculture . In the SY 1982-1983, however, the institute of Veterinary medicine was finally created with Dr. Luther Contreras as the first Dean. In Sys 1983-1988, Dr. Pedro Vergara acted as Dean after the resignation of the latter. It was during Dr. Vergara's term that the first enrolles came, in the Sumer of 1984. The Inst. Of Vet. Medicine existed until the first Semester of SY 1987-1988. It was re-opened with the offering of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine – a straight six-year course in the SY 1993-1994 with Dr. Julieta R. Parairo as the first Dean. During her term, the DVM program was evaluated by the Technical Panel in 26 March 1998 . after her resignation in the same year, Dr. Ma. Asuncion G. Beltran took over the deanship up to the present. |
